Carrboro WISE Program

Green Horizon is pleased to be participating in the new Carrboro WISE Homes and Buildings Program.

Residents of Carrboro may be eligible to receive subsidies of $150 to $425 towards home performance assessments and air sealing and insulation improvements.  Click here for more information.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Any residing owner of a single-family detached home inside the Carrboro city limits can apply to participate in the residential portion of the program. Your home must be at least 1 year old, and you must have resided there more than 4 months, to be eligible.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Step #1: Completed a Carrboro WISE Homes and Buildings Homeowner Participation Agreement and receive confirmation of eligibility.  Click here to download the form.

Step #2: Contact Green Horizon to schedule your Home Performance Assessment. Upon completion, you will submit the required documents to the Town of Carrboro for a home assessment subsidy of up to $125.. Click here to contact us.

Step #3: Schedule the work to be completed with Green Horizon and completed your Intent to Proceed Form with the Town, letting them know what work is being performed and what subsidy you'll be receiving when work is complete. In partnership with Duke Energy, you can receive up to $425 towards insulation and air sealing in your home. Click here for more information.

Step #4: When work is complete, the Town will perform Quality Assurance to ensure that the work was completed according to industry standards, and then you can complete your Subsidy Invoice, with the help of Green Horizon, and submit it to the Town, authorizing them to pay the Subsidy on your behalf. You're never out of pocket for the subsidized amount - the Town pays this directly!

WHAT ITEMS ARE ELIGIBLE THROUGH GREEN HORIZON?

To be eligible, the Scope of Work for your home must have a goal of reducing energy consumption by at least 15% over your home's energy costs from the previous year.
