Greensboro Family Home Energy Makeover - Summer 2011

Project: Attic Sprayfoam Insulation, Geothermal System

Location: Greensboro, NC

Michelle and Mikhail have a great 1960's contemporary home in Greensboro, North Carolina, but were stuck with high utility bills and comfort issues. They brought in Green Horizon to complete spray foam insulation to solve air sealing and heat retention concerns, then installed a geothermal system to bring down energy consumption.

Michelle and Mikhail contacted dozens of busineses in North Carolina to discuss work on their home, recieving more than 15 quotes. Ultimately, they chose Green Horizon because of their professionalism and the fact that Green Horizon was able to do all the various projects they needed in the home.

PROJECT BENEFITS

The family now enjoys a comfortable home with lower bills, and are already getting ready for their next Green Horizon project - replacing the older, inefficient windows with modern, high efficiency windows, as well as refurbishing the poorly insulated outside walls. In the interim, they are pleased to report  that their energy bills have been reduced by 60%!

THE CLIENT SAYS

"I would say the house feels much more clean, the air feels more pure and I feel better as a person knowing I am using a sustainable system to heat and cool my house in a matter that makes a less harmful impacton the earth and future generations. That first bill you get after insulation will just blow you away with how low it is."
