tax incentives for energy efficiencyACT NOW FOR LOWER BILLS
There's never been a better time to invest in energy efficiency and green building for your home or business. With generous Federal and State tax incentives, and rebates from your utilities, the payback times on creating green, efficient and comfortable homes have been slashed dramatically.

NOBODY LIKES TAXES
It's true - tax time is not fun. But that bill becomes a whole lot easier to swallow if you are getting rewarded for doing the right thing. Federal Tax credits of 30% (maximum $1500) are available on the purchase and installation of the following GH services:

STATE INCENTIVES KICK IN TOO
It doesn't end with the Feds. North Carolina also has a generous package of incentives for energy efficiency and renewables, and they have recently added Geothermal to their list of qualifying technologies - taking the available tax credit to 65% of the cost of a Geothermal system! (And see below for the money our local utilities will add to that total...)

UTILITIES PAY YOU TO SAVE MONEY
And the tax man isn't the only one who will cut you some slack.

Progress Energy's Home Improvement program offers rebates ranging from $45 for HVAC tune up and maintenance, to $300 on the purchase and installation of heat pump or AC and Geothermal heating and cooling systems and $375 for attic insulation and air sealing, $330 for duct testing and duct sealing and $450 for window replacement.

Duke Energy will give existing homeowners $200 for a replacement heat pump or AC, Geothermal system. They'll increase the rebate to $300 for new construction.

Piedmont Natural Gas will give you $300 for a new high-efficiency furnace, $250 for a tankless water heater and $50 for a traditional water heater.
